At first glance, it might look like a large slug plopped down there: thick and wet. But closer inspection will show that it is, in fact... a tongue.

Cut (or perhaps torn, given how jagged and frayed its edges are) very freshly out, bleeding profusely. By the time morning comes, a puddle of blood will have spread out all around it, no doubt attracting an unfavourable amount of flies.

The demon thinks the meaning of this "gift" is clear. His prior threat to Johnny's tongue was and remains a warning. )

[It's a only a week or two after the tournament when Johnny gets a message from Sayo. This may have come as a relief, at first—she'd been putting in remarkable effort to avoid him for two whole days, which is impressive considering that they live together and they don't really have something as sophisticated as "separate rooms."

But that would've evaporated as soon as he read it.]

I'm moving out. Quitting Cobra Kai, too. Don't worry, I'll have everything out by tomorrow.

[Then, a few minutes later, after careful deliberation:]

I'm sorry, Lawrence-sensei.

[As she promised, Sayo already has most of her belongings in boxes by the next morning, with Goat-kun helping her pack up the rest of her odds and ends. When Johnny wanders into her field of view, her eyes briefly flick toward him (and toward the punching bag) before she focuses once again on her task, staying quiet.

Then one of her training weights tumbles off from where it was precariously perched on her stack of equipment, plummeting to the floor and in Johnny's direction.]

Shit- look out!

[There are more bags than usual under her eyes. She's been doing this all night while he's been dead asleep, no wonder she got clumsy.]

[Johnny has been preoccupied the last few weeks with setting and seeing he tournament through. But that's not to say he hasn't noticed the rising tension between him and Sayo. It's hard not to notice when someone he was living with was going to such lengths to avoid him. He didn't know quite know how to broach that and instead continued to focus on the things he could control and knew how to.

When the text comes finally comes through he just stares at it briefly. He knew that this was never meant to permanent, she had needed help and he had been there to provide it. It was cut and dry and simple in the regard and he wasn't about to stand in her way. But quitting the dojo? That was a cut that he hadn't quite been expecting. He'd have to crack a beer after he was done with that one.

By the time he wakes up again he hears working on packing and he gets up to start working on scrounging up something for breakfast. He sees her eyes look to him but he glances down toward the ground and misses the glance at the punching bag. He doesn't know what she's seen and frankly he didn't consider that any of her business. That matter was closed as far he was concerned (And wrong he was).

The training weight falls and comes his way and he shifts down to pick it up before it hits him. He's still tired and a little unfocused himself so as he reaches down it rolls over his fingers and he winces from a brief sting of pain.]

Augh- Fucking white belt.

[He seethes briefly before he picks up the weight and carries it over to Sayo.]

The feed opens, and Willow is seated at the table in the Pines' kitchen. Her hair and eyes are back to their usual shades of red and green respectively instead of the inky black they were during their last encounter.]

[There's a hint of surprise in his tone along with something else. A tinge of annoyance and frustration that LaRusso may have seen his son before he did. Of course he'd be trying to get a jump on his son and weasel his way in there.

This sucks.

This would be everything: The chill in the air made drearier from the decor on this side of town (seriously? eyes?); the wait for an inevitable that he's stuck in, the meeting he'd rather avoid; the fact he's planning to go through with it, and not just ditch this place, check his Omni for some form of GPS and get walking. Why not be more like what he's used to from certain others, and don't be around - don't show up?

...But he doesn't want to think like that, dig up old bitterness to chew on for flavour as he waits; even as his thoughts fight with some distant memory, a promise that things will be okay. And then over to the life here in Trench he hasn't been a part of, again, of the ones making him proud and happy.

He doesn't care. It was a long time ago. What if things will be different?

--He hates this waiting around. He's got his eyes open, ears too, back turned to a lamp post that's the least creepy of nearby decor that keeps him out of people's way, the motifs of eyes all strongly ignored. His dress style makes him visible amongst the fashions of Trench, dressed in his green varsity jacket and jeans more suited for the Earth he's from.

And he waits, as he said he would. For whatever comes around the corner - for whatever comes next. ]

[Eventually something would come around the corner. Or at least a set of lights approached it and there was a bumping that could be heard along the cobblestone road. There weren't many cars in Trench but this one certainly stood out. It was Johnny's 2009 Challenger, refitted to work on the fuel sources available in Trench.

It came to a screeching halt just before the corner approaching the school.]

Get the hell out of the way, asshole! I'm driving here!

[The voice should be familiar enough to Robby. Despite being loud and annoyed, there was a tension that couldn't be ignore in it. The car approached the corner again and Johnny looked around the corner, his knuckles white on the steering wheel. It had been months since he last saw his son for real. Not a specter. Not a memory. The real flesh and blood Robby. ...He was also painfully aware he might not be the man his son remembers. That he was from a different time than both LaRusso and Tory and that was probably the same for Robby as well. He was absolutely terrified of fucking this up.

But he glanced over to LaRusso who was sitting in his passenger seat. It wasn't comfort he was looking for, it was an urge to prove to himself and LaRusso that he could do this. That he could be there for his son when he needed him. That's all he needed.

The car turned and bumped along the road toward where Robby stood. Eventually coming to a stop as Johnny killed the engine. There was a nervous pause as he sucked in a breath before opening the door and poking his head out.]

Robby.

Hey.

[His words come to him slow and a little shaky. But hey. He actually showed up.]

( Whatever the nature of Peter's strange connection with this man, it's still a connection, and it's actually quite a strong one. Enough so that as Susurrus starts poking his head out more, growing and learning and wanting to reach out to others, he feels himself drawn towards Johnny Lawrence's spirit, too.

The Omen is shy and cautious like Peter, but there's something intensely curious and alien, too. Something reminiscent of the demon; he's both parts of their spirits conjoined. When the snake calls out to the entity tethered to Johnny, his mental voice is a quiet hiss. )

[There's a ruffle of feathers as the wings of Johnny's serpentine omen stretches it's out at the sudden message. For the most part it had stayed quiet and stalwart when it came to watching Johnny. It let him make his own mistakes and clean up after them. It knew that's how he'd prefer.

The his is matched with one of it's own. It sounds a touch more tired and weary, but with a subtle bit of strength to it.]

He's tanked more than a few but he was also able to help Miguel at least get his feet under him with his crush. And things between him and Carmen hadn't been awful back at home.

...And he hadn't exactly fucked things up with Mercy yet. But that was different.

He at the very least owed Sharon and Rose the chance to try here. Whether he screwed things up was a future Johnny problem.]
